[REVIEW] The Storied Life of A.J.Fikry – Gabrielle Zevin

My Rating:
3.0 rating

Jersey Girl meets Gilmore Girls, this is what I thought throughout the book. This little read came like a balm after a few sad books and I enjoyed it more than I should have on other given occasion. Full of cliches, it’s shallow here and there, and I would have wanted to know more about the characters and go deeper in their minds, but being the right book at the right time, I let that pass. A very grumpy widower bookshop owner finds himself in the position of wanting to adopt a toddler left in his bookshop. Over the years, with the help of Maya he’ll discover and accept things and especially books that he used to hate until then. Through books he changes both his life and of the people in his small town.
